And so it continues! Grabbing my coffee this morning, the man serving me wished me good luck on the punt today before closing with “You’re certainly due!”

I’m feeling it. So onto today’s Scone Saturday meeting (shifted to Rosehill), with some big fields providing the perfect opportunity to back a few speculators as well as some class on their way to Brisbane. Ten units as always, enjoy.

Dixie’s 2020 tally
Units bet: 167
Units won: 140.80
Based on one unit being equal to $1 win bet, NSW dividends (see comments for any changes based on scratchings or track condition).

I’m leaving Races 1, 3 and 4 to save a few credits for the others.

Race 2 – 13 Wild Impact (one unit)
I’ll kick off with a low-grade race over 2400 (what could possibly go wrong?). Happy to back Wild Impact as the one potentially going places out of this bunch. He’s lightly raced and built for this trip, if he reproduces something like the winning effort at Kembla he’s right in it. La Grisa is the other runner going in the right direction, while I’m leaving out Loves to Rock this time – don’t do it to me!

Race 5 – 9 Adelong (two units)
I liked Adelong a few weeks ago when he was scratched, meets a similar sort of field in this and she’ll give them something to chase. Lashes will get the sit but has to carry a big weight, also think L’Cosmo will be in a nice spot but she might be a non-winner (eight seconds from 12 starts).

Race 6 – 4 Lanciato (two units)
Lanciato finds the right race here, he is hard to catch (no wins for two years), but jumps down in weight and meets Rainier two kilos to the good. Not much speed in the race, hoping he jumps with them and doesn’t give the lightweights too much of a start.

Race 7 – Fituese (two units)
I left Fituese out last time, but won’t be making that mistake again. She was very impressive fresh and I suspect is on her way to bigger things up north. The Godolphin runners Enfleurage and Aquitane are probably Queensland-bound as well, they’ve both won trials leading into this and are the threats with Satin Socks.

Race 8 – 13 Improvement (one unit)
Good luck here punters! I’m having a throw at the stumps and taking Improvement. It’s getting close to 1000 days (makes Lanciato look good) since he last saluted, he gets right down in weight here and tries blinkers for the first time. Improvement indeed! The race is a bit of a dartboard job. Irithea rates well but has drawn the car park, Romani Girl could be ready to do something first-up and who knows if the real Ready to Prophet will show up.

Race 9 – 9 Prophet’s Thumb (two units)
Finishing strong with Prophet’s Thumb. She takes on the boys here but steps down from 61.5 kilos last time. Staying at 1100 metres is a tick. No knock on Dirty Work, who rates highly, Villami and Star Boy will give a sight as well.

Tricky meeting as ever. Go wide, go hard, may your roughies be fast and your quaddies large. Good luck, thanks as ever for your comments.
