The future of Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani is looking like it will be away from Paris, but where next do we find him?

With the French champions Paris Saint-Germain completing the permanent transfer of Mauro Icardi in a deal worth £52 million (A$95 million), the exit of Cavani looks imminent.

The Uruguayan international, who was keen to move away from the French capital after the arrival of Mauro Icardi on loan last summer, had a host of clubs looking for his signature.

He will no doubt be leaving after his contract expires at the end of June.

He had a lengthy injury setback during the campaign and featured for the the Paris club 14 times this season before the premature end of the Ligue 1 season, scoring just four times.

This is notably his smallest number of appearances for the team upon his arrival from Napoli in the 2013 European summer. The last time he featured in fewer games was at Palermo, where he played just seven games the entire season.

He is well known for his goal-scoring abilities and goal link-up play.

A good amount of teams will want to add him to their ranks of attacking options.

He has been linked with a move to Chelsea, but with the sudden transfer of Timo Werner, the transfer might no longer pull through.

According to Sky Sports, Inter Milan – who are ready to allow Lautaro Martinez to leave – have contacted the Uruguayan to join on a free-money transfer.

The deal depends on the situation of Lautaro Martinez’s proposed big-money move to a potential buyer ready to meet the demands of Inter Milan.

Cavani’s link to Manchester United has been waved off, after the renewal of Odion Ighalo’s loan deal, which will last until January 2021.

As a player not short of options, the 33-year-old will be making a switch.
