This team consists of players that I predict to be the best performers in the upcoming round.

B: James Sicily (Hawthorn), Robbie Tarrant (North Melbourne), Jack Lukosius (Gold Coast)
HB: Daniel Rich (Brisbane), Jacob Weitering (Carlton), Jack Bowes (Gold Coast)
C: Pat Lipinski (Western Bulldogs), Andrew McGrath (Essendon), Zach Merrett (Essendon)
HF: Ricky Henderson (Hawthorn), Eric Hipwood (Brisbane), Jack Billings (St Kilda)
FF: Mitch Wallis (Western Bulldogs), Shaun McKernan (Essendon), Christian Petracca (Melbourne)
Foll: Todd Goldstein (North Melbourne), Tom Mitchell (Hawthorn), Jack Macrae (Western Bulldogs)
Int: Jed Anderson (North Melbourne), Dan Butler (St Kilda), Kyle Langford (Essendon), Sam Menegola (Geelong)

Backs
James Sicily should provide plenty of run out of defence for Hawthorn against Richmond. Sicily will be hungry to atone for his below-average performance in Round 2.

Robbie Tarrant was a revelation for North Melbourne in Round 2. Tarrant should curtail the influence of the young Sydney Swans key forwards.

Jack Lukosius had a decent game against West Coast in Round 2. Expect Lukosius to improve in Round 3 and deliver a quality performance.

Daniel Rich is a quality half back flanker. Rich should have a good game to continue the good form that he displayed in Round 1 where he amassed 21 disposals.

Jacob Weitering was a pivotal part of Carlton almost getting what looked like an improbable victory as they were 42 points down at one stage. Expect Weitering to be instrumental in Carlton claiming an upset win against Geelong.

Jack Bowes was one of the Gold Coast’s better players in their upset win over the West Coast. Expect Bowes to continue on the good form that he displayed against West Coast in Round 3.

Midfielders
Pat Lipinski showed that he deserves to be a permanent part of the Western Bulldogs’ best 22 when fit and available. Lipinski performed well in Round 2, which won’t be an aberration from Round 3 onwards.

Andrew McGrath should benefit from spending more time in the midfield if Round 2 is any indication. Expect McGrath to emulate the manner in which he performed against Sydney in Round 3.

Zach Merrett was in a class of his own in Round 2. Merrett will show why he should be considered one of the best players in the competition in Round 3. He leads by example and is Essendon’s most important player.

Forwards
Ricky Henderson is a pivotal part of the Hawthorn team. Henderson will prove why that’s the case in Round 3.

Eric Hipwood is one of the most dangerous and capable key forwards in the game. Hipwood is a pivotal part of Brisbane team and will show why in Round 3.

Jack Billings should prove why he could possibly win the Brownlow Medal if he can emulate the manner in which he played in Round 1 and 2. Billings has already kicked five goals in two games this season.

Mitch Wallis needs to improve on his Round 2 display. Expect Wallis to prove why he is a part of the Western Bulldogs’ leadership group.

Shaun McKernan was a revelation in Round 2, as he kicked three goals in the game. McKernan will prove hard to defend against in Round 3 if he can replicate the form he displayed in Round 2.

Christian Petracca was outstanding for Melbourne in Round 2. That’s the standard that Petracca has to live up to. He is a threat as he is a utility capable of playing in the midfield and kicking goals up forward.

Followers
Todd Goldstein should dominate in the ruck as he will probably be matched up against Callum Sinclair. No disrespect to Sinclair, but Goldstein is a better ruckman based on Round 2 as Goldstein had 51 hit-outs, nine clearances and a goal to go with his 19 disposals.

Tom Mitchell was Hawthorn’s best player in Round 2. Mitchell should try and help Hawthorn beat Richmond and prove why he has been added to the leadership group for 2020.

Jack Macrae will probably be tagged by Matt de Boer. Macrae should cope with that tag and be a pivotal part of the Western Bulldogs beating the Greater Western Sydney Giants.

Interchange
Jed Anderson has an impact on the game every time he gets a disposal. Anderson’s influence on the game should be difficult to curtail in Round 3.

Dan Butler was a key part of St Kilda winning in Round 2. Butler should continue on from where he left off in Round 3 as he will be too good for the Collingwood defenders.

Kyle Langford proved that he belongs at AFL level with his display in Round 2. Langford has the potential to prove why he has the capability of being an important player for Essendon in Round 3

Sam Menegola proved that he belongs in Geelong’s best 22 when fit and available with a quality display in Round 2. Expect more of the same from Menegola against Carlton in Round 3.
