We are eager for Cricket Australia to announce the squads for the T20 Wolrd Cup 2020, so let’s take a look at the most possible XI.
1. David Warner
Matches: 79; runs: 2207; average: 31.52; strike rate: 140.48
Warner is known as the most successful T20 opener in the world alongside Rohit Sharma. With a strike rate of 140.48, he could smash the ball over the ropes and give good starts to the Aussies. Warner has also had a lot of experience and has captained the T20 side a couple of times. He is electric on the field with his sharp throws to the stumps.
2. Aaron Finch
Matches: 61; runs: 1989; average: 38.25; strike rate: 155.87
Finch is known for his blistering sixes and fours, but did you know he’s the record holder for the highest score in T20 internationals with a score of 172? It’s the second-highest score in all forms of T20 cricket. With Warner and him in the middle, the bowlers in the powerplay could face serious carnage.
3. Steve Smith
Matches: 31; runs: 681; average: 29.60; strike rate: 130.71
When the openers get dismissed early there is a need for an anchor to take the innings deep. The correct person for this is Steve Smith. He has a mix of shots. He keeps the scoreboard ticking but doesn’t play loose shots or throw his wickets away. With the experience of captaining the team he could come in handy during the World Cup.

4. Travis Head
Matches: 16; runs: 319; average: 26.58; strike rate: 130.20
Travis Head should be the ideal No. 4 with the ability to play attacking shots and defensively when needed.
5. Alex Carey
Matches: 16; runs: 173; average: 14.41; strike rate: 124.46
Alex Carey is one of Australian cricket’s rising stars. He is the ideal wicketkeeper for the team and can also open the innings when needed. Although the stats don’t say much, he impressed the selectors at the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
6. Glenn Maxwell
Matches: 54; runs: 1576; average: 35.02; strike rate: 160.00
Glenn Maxwell is known as one of the best all-rounders in the world. He has an impressive strike rate of 160 and – who knows? – he could score a quickfire hundred. An average of 35.02 is more than excellent for a batsman at No. 6.
7. Jhye Richardson
Matches: nine; wickets: nine; average: 31.88; economy: 8.44
A perfect bowler required to bowl in the right areas and contain the middle overs. The right-arm fast can cramp up the batsman by bowling bullet-speed balls.
8. Jason Behrendorff
Matches: six; wickets: seven; average: 16.7; economy: 7.31
Jason could come handy with his left-arm pace in the powerplay and death overs.
9. Mitchell Starc
Matches: 31; wickets: 43; average: 18.65; economy: 6.91
This guy doesn’t need an introduction as arguably the world’s best bowler. He could give the ideal starts along with Pat Cummins in the powerplay overs and bundle out the opposition very quickly.
10. Pat Cummins
Matches: 28; wickets: 36; average: 19.86; economy: 6.87
How could we leave the world No. 1 bowler out of the squad? The heart of the bowling attack could bowl in the powerplay and prove handy in the field placements.
11. Adam Zampa
Matches: 29; wickets: 33; average: 19.03; economy: 6.12
The team requires a spinner who could bowl dot balls in the middle. He could spin the ball to take crucial LBWs.
