Manchester United have capped off a 2-nil win on Thursday night against Crystal Palace to take their unbeaten streak to 19 games in all competitions.

United are currently sitting in fifth place (one outside the Champions League qualification) behind Leicester City on goal difference with two matches left in the season.

With the season winding down towards a dramatic finish between United, Leicester and Chelsea for a top-four spot, there is still no certainty of what the final four will look like.

Chelsea currently sit third on 63 points, while Leicester sit fourth on 62 points, just in front of an in-form United team who trail Leicester in fifth spot by goal difference (three goals).

United are looking like the team to beat at the moment with mid-season recruit Bruno Fernandes leading the Red Devils’ resurrection. Fernandes has contributed seven goals and seven assists in 12 matches in the Premier League for United since he arrived, and has not missed a beat.

Fernandes has slotted into the midfield seamlessly since moving across to Old Trafford in January, also pairing up with world-class player Paul Pogba, who returned from injury mid-June.

Since Pogba’s return, he and Fernandes have played seven games together, which included five wins and two draws as well as Pogba’s first goal in over a year for the club.

United will have to beat West Ham next Thursday to still be in contention for Champions League qualification, before taking on Leicester in the final match of the season to book a spot in Europe’s top competition.

Things are not looking bright for Leicester, though, with two extremely tough games in front of them. Leicester face Tottenham Hotspur and United in their last two games to secure a Champions League berth, however they only have taken the three points from three of their last ten matches.

At this stage, it looks like Leicester’s head could be on the chopping block this weekend when they face Tottenham. With United riding on their tail and adding immense pressure to the Leicester line-up, it looks unlikely that we will see them in the Champions League next season.

With United’s front three (Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood) in blistering form, it is hard to not write off Leicester’s shambolic defence at this point.

Leicester conceded four goals to Bournemouth, who currently sit 17th, last Monday, putting a lot of doubt into their chances of turning that form around to face an exciting United outfit.

United and Leicester will face off on July 27, which will ultimately decide their fate.
