The 2020 NRL grand final is upon us and, while the Penrith Panthers tackling the Melbourne Storm is the main event, there’s a lot more to grand final day than just the game. Here, you can check out The Roar’s guide to the full grand final day schedule, with every event and time.
Please note that all times within this article are in Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT).
Unfortunately, due to COVID, a reduced crowd of only 40,000 people will be able to attend, the gates will open a lot later than they normally do and there will less entertainment than we’ve had in previous years.
Gates will open at 3:15pm, with the first event being the NRL Women’s grand final between the Sydney Roosters and Brisbane Broncos at 4:05pm.
There will be no State Challenge cup, due to the NSW and Queensland Cup competitions being cancelled.
The NRLW grand final will conclude at roughly 5:20pm, with the pre-match entertainment – headlined by Amy Shark – set to begin just over an hour later.
Afterwards, the field will be prepared for the decider, with both teams entering the field six minutes before kick-off at 7:30pm. The match will finish about two hours later, before being followed by the post-match presentation.

4:05pm – NRLW grand final kick-off
4:40pm – NRLW grand final halftime
4:45pm – NRLW grand final second half commences
5:20pm – NRLW grand final fulltime
5:30pm – NRLW grand final post-match presentation
6:30pm – Pre-match entertainment featuring Amy Shark begins
7:10pm – Pre-match entertainment concludes
7:24pm – Teams enter ANZ Stadium
7:26pm – National anthem and welcome to country ceremony
7:30pm – NRL grand final kick-off
8:20pm – NRL grand final halftime
8:35pm – NRL grand final second half commences
9:25pm – NRL grand final fulltime
9:30pm – NRL grand final post-match presentation
