Eight races have been set down for Tabcorp Park Menangle on Saturday night. Down below is a preview of the meeting.

Race 1
Not really a race I want to bet into, but on top we have Pay Me Sam, who has placed in both runs back from a spell, the latest coming a couple of weeks ago over the 2300 metres here. A fast-run mile will be ideal for him and he’s got more upside and progression than most engaged here.

Suggested bet: No bet.

Race 2
Provided he’s double-figure odds, I can entertain Hes The Warrior each way. He was solid enough when racing here last Saturday behind Jay Ok and lands the perfect sit behind the speed from Gate 1 and in a race that looks quite even on paper, I think he is the one who represents value.

Suggested bet: Hes The Warrior each way.

Race 3
A stack of speed drawn wide, so it’ll be a fast run race. I hope they dismiss Marty Major and we can get a decent each-way price about him. I was really keen on him last Saturday and he battled away well when a close up fourth. I hope they are aggressive again and can find the front, where he does his best racing from.

Suggested bet: Marty Major each way.

Race 4
Not really a race I want to spend too much time on given the depth isn’t strong, but Major Currency was pretty solid last time out after doing from six to find the front. He draws the pole this time around, so he should find the front and prove hard to run down. But you have to go back to March to find his last win, so happy to watch.

Suggested bet: No bet.

Race 5
A fast class event for the program and I can back one here via a 1×3 play in the shape of Mafuta Vautin. I thought he was very good here last Saturday behind King Of Swing after settling just off the speed, where they ran a 1.50.5 mile rate. Hopefully, he can get a similar run this time around and at $13 or thereabouts I can back him to run well.

Suggested bet: 1×3 Mafuta Vautin.

Race 6
Better Enforce looks the one to beat in this Mares contest. She returns to Sydney after racing at Group l level at Melton in the Queen Of The Pacific where she led and tried very hard, but couldn’t quite finish it off and had to settle for a second to Speak No Evil. She should find the front here and class gets her home. Best on the program.

Suggested bet: Better Enforce to win.

Race 7
If Arnold steps away cleanly, he wins and wins comfortably. You’ll know your fate when the strands are released. He was dominant from the mobile last time out at Goulburn but the start prior at Albion Park, he galloped from the stand and was a non-factor. Heart in the mouth at the start, but if he steps away, he wins.

Suggested bet: Arnold to win.

Race 8
Craig Cross wins this race, it’s just a matter of which one. The driving bookings has swayed me, with Luke McCarthy driving Living Again. His recent form has been so-so but those were much stronger races than this. He can find the front comfortably from the gate and from there he’ll get every chance to win. But it’s not a race I could bet in.

Suggested bet: No bet.
