Today will see eight races set down for Albion Park, the first getting underway at 2.03pm Sydney time.

Race One: Jansson has been a bit costly his past few but he looks to find a really good race here. Brilliant beginning from a 30m handicap last Tuesday and quickly found the front. Problem was he copped mid-race pressure and was left a sitting shot something, that something being Malabar Spur. Only a 10m handicap now, he finds the front and will take some beating.

Suggested Bet: Jansson to win

Race Two: Woodlands Rose on top here. Thought Diebert was a bit cute on her last Tuesday. Just waited too long to press the button and with that, he gave My Ultimate Heston the chance to build the revs and that momentum was the difference between winning and losing IMO. Finds the front here and hopefully he doesn’t wait around for them this time.

Suggested Bet: Woodlands Rose to win

Race Three: With the barrier draw, I’ll just lean the way of Coppice. Led two back and was gunned down by Blissfulday, the horse that draws to his immediate outside. Highly doubt Narissa McMullen will let it cross so expecting this gelding to be in front and proving hard to get past.

Suggested Bet: Coppice to win

Race Four: Flame Lady has finished runner up in two Australian runs since arriving from NZ and I think third time lucky, she can make it a win. Opted for cover last time out and just missed out on the win when second to Lancelot Bromac, the same race which is a last start form reference for Coppice so by the time race four comes around, you’ll know how strong the reference is. Tipping it will be strong.

Suggested Bet: Flame Lady to win

Race Five: I’ll have a 1×3 play with the old boy Lancelot Bromac. His name has popped up a couple of times in the preview and for good reason because his win from the back last time out was outstanding, despite having a $41 SP. Will be nowhere near that this time around but draws the pole and will do no work.

Suggested Bet: 1×3 Lancelot Bromac

Race Six: Again, a 1×3 play here, provided there are eight starters. Psychedelic is a veteran for John Cremin that is an honest customer. Ran third last time out after settling off the pace. His overall form is a touch mixed, but draws the pole, doing no work and can run top three.

Suggested Bet: 1×3 Psychedelic, provided there are eight starters

Race Seven: Going to have an each way play here via Betterthandiamonds, who resumes for Chantal Turpin with Pete McMullen to steer. She draws the second row but is drawn directly behind a speed horse, so think she can get a lovely run through and has looked pretty good in a couple of trials.

Suggested Bet: Betterthandiamonds each way

Race Eight: Colby will be short but all things being equal, he should win and is the good thing on the program. Gee he was tough last Tuesday outside the leader in a fast run mile, only going down narrowly. Think he finds the front comfortably and really, only has to hold his form to be winning comfortably. I’d be happy to take $1.50 so anything that and above is a bet.

Suggested Bet: Colby to win
