A blockbuster trade has happened involving James Harden being sent to the Nets.

The deal is a four-way trade. The teams involved are Brooklyn Nets, Houston Rockets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers.

This trade has been looming for around a month now as Harden has been certainly uncomfortable and has strongly shown that through the media. The Nets will gain James Harden, Houston will receive Victor Oladipo, Dante Exum, Rodions Kurucs, as well as four first-round picks including the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2022 first-round pick from Cleveland Cavaliers and four Nets pick swaps.

For the Pacers, they were able to pick Caris LeVert in exchange for Victor Oladipo and a second-round pick. Cleveland Cavaliers were able to require some size in Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince.

Nets
For Brooklyn, right now its win a championship or go home as they game up some of their key players like LeVert who is having his breakout season and Jarrett Allen who has been a destroyer in the paint so far this season on both ends. James Harden and Kevin Durant will reunite as they were together in OKC Thunder, which was supposed to be a dynasty, however, Harden was then traded to the Houston Rockets in 2012.

If Kyrie Irving can deal with his issues as soon as possible, the Nets would be highly likely to become the favourites to win the chip this year.

Rockets
This was absolutely the right option for the Rockets as why would you want a player playing for you when he just wants every other option but to stay? Harden’s now-former Rockets teammate DeMarcus Cousins has come out and quoted about this Nets trade drama saying, “it’s disrespectful.”

I think that Victor Oladipo was an incredible pick up for the Rockets as it brings a second option for John Wall and some great shooting ability. They initially acquired LeVert but then in the four-way trade they traded him to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Oladipo. This was a steal for the Rockets as Oladipo is definitely the better player.

The Rockets will also receive a young player in Dante Exum from the Cleveland Cavaliers and four first-round picks. Things are looking bright in the future for the Houston Rockets.

Pacers
On the Pacers side of the trade, they were able to collect LeVert from the Nets via the Rockets and a second-round pick. Making the choice trade to Oladipo was one I and a lot of people would be close to describing as dumb. The Pacers have been building their young players for a while now, but this trade might have just interrupted everything as their first option has been traded.

LeVert right now is not better than Oladipo. However, things might turn out well for the Pacers as LeVert has started playing some good basketball lately. Malcolm Brogdon becomes the Pacers’ first option right now.

Cavaliers
The Cavaliers were able to pick up some big-unit players from the Nets as they acquired Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince. These two players will most likely dominate in the paint for the Cavaliers on both ends of the floor alongside the 2011 rebound leader Kevin Love.

Overall, if the Nets win the championship this year, they have certainly won this trade, however, if they do not achieve this, I have the Rockets winning this deal as they have looked to the future with many young players and draft picks.
