Couple of meetings to focus on this Thursday, with an afternoon meeting at Tabcorp Park Melton whilst Penrith will race under lights.

Down below is best bets for the respective programs.

Tabcorp Park Melton
Best Bet: Race One Number 2 No Win No Worries

Pretty keen on this filly to break her maiden status. Went an enormous mile here two back in defeat, then stepped up in trip at Geelong and for mine, just didn’t run out the distance strongly.

Better suited over the sprint trip, and with gate speed, she leads comfortably and for mine, off her run two back, she’ll beat this lot up.

Next Best: Race Three Number 8 Flying Jo:
Short but should be winning. Quality mare that resumes after a solid Winter prep when contesting some pretty solid races behind quality types.

This looks relatively weak compared to what she faced and looked outstanding in a recent Maryborough trial. Only bad luck can beat her.

Value: Race Seven Number 1 Huey Trevor
Think he’s a sneaky chance at a price. Good in defeat two back at Ballarat before going to Wedderburn where he didn’t seem to handle the tight track so forget he went around.

He draws to park behind the leader and with that run, I think he can be dangerous at a decent price, double figures.

Penrith
Best Bet: Race Two Number 3 Anntonia:
Will be short but all things being equal, will be winning and she is an idea multi anchor/booster. Star filly for David Thorn that resumes and was excellent as a juvenile, ending the prep with a Group 1 placing.

Should find the front without doing too much work and her class will come to the fore.

Next Best: Race Five Number 2 Nightwatch Star:
Keen on his chances. On face value, he was plain at Canberra last time, but he did cop heat in front and the race was set up for swoopers.

Strong, tough win here the start prior and with his gate speed, he is the leader and from there, it should be a pretty painless watch if you are on.

Value: Race One Number 1 Informality:
I don’t think you can go wrong backing him each way. Been given a couple of weeks off since racing here last time. Gee he had a torrid run in transit, doing a power of work to get on speed and he rightfully dropped out late.

Draws to do no work in the run this time around and 1×3 at a price, he’s a bet for sure.
