We head to Rosehill this Saturday, where more big guns strut their stuff in the lead-up to the autumn carnival.

Another wet track awaits, I think on-speed might be the best place to be considering the rail position and a potentially shifty surface.

2020-21 season (since 1 August)
Outlay: 356 units
Return: 433.7 units

Stats are based on one unit being equal to a $1 win bet, New South Wales dividends. See the comments for any changes based on scratchings or track condition.

Sydney selections

Race 1: 6 Vulpine (one unit)
I will test my leader theory straight-up with Vulpine in the opener at the massive price. She’s won two on the go in easier grade and showed some heart when challenged last start. Looking down the bottom of the order for challengers, they’re both short enough though.

Race 3: 8 Nimalee (one unit)
A tricky race with a lot of fresh runners, Nimalee will be better over a bit further but should be competitive here. She’s two from three on soft going so the wet should suit. Yao Dash is the danger, another one who’s a bit short for me to get into but he has the fitness.

Race 4: 2 Positive Peace (one unit)
This race sets up well for Positive Peace, she’s drawn perfectly and should lead unchallenged. Her Rosehill and 1300 metre stats are top-notch, and she’ll be fine in the going.

Race 6: 11 Sacramento (three units)
Sacramento rates well on top here, he’s one of mine, he’ll be in the first couple and is rock hard fit. His heavy run was a blank in the ATC Derby, forgiving that and going with the good soft track stats where he’s two from four.

Race 7: 4 Peltzer (one unit)
I’m willing to risk the New Zealand invader Aegon and go with Peltzer, he belted them in the Bondi last prep on heavy, was great fresh and 1400 is spot on. North Pacific and The Elanora are both class.

Race 8: 12 Emanate (two units)
Emanate gets right down in the weights for this, her first-up run was good considering where she ended up, I like her staying at the 1100 trip. I’m wary of Tavisan, who won’t be suited by the rack but has a class edge on this lot and is a nice price.

Race 9: 6 Cuban Royale (one unit)
I’ll bookend the day with speculators, this is a funny little race with the scratchings, so why not Cuban Royale? He’s been running pretty well recently at big prices and has heavy track wins. Jay Ford – he’ll do me.

Good luck and stay safe. Looks a cracking card at Caulfield, I think Behemoth might be too good in the Futurity, I’ll have a sneaky on Garner in the Oakleigh Plate and load up on Paradee to bring it home.
