Ex-NRL superstar Paul Gallen takes his boxing career to the next level with a huge about against Lucas Browne at Wollongong’s WIN Entertainment Centre.
This is The Roar’s guide to watching the fight on TV, or getting on a Gallen vs Browne live stream.
Gallen has ten wins and a draw in his short boxing career so far, but gained a new level of respect within the sport after defeating ex-UFC champion Mark Hunt in a fight last December.
He’ll be up against it tonight, however, with Browne having won 29 of his 31 career bouts – including 25 by knockout. Browne won the WBA World Heavyweight Title in 2016, but had it stripped later after failing a drug test.
The undercard begins at 6pm (AEST) tonight, with TV coverage starting at 7pm and the main fight itself expected to get underway just after 10pm.
As with almost all boxing events, Foxtel’s pay-per-view service, Main Event, is the only way you’ll be able to watch this fight on TV. Their coverage begins at 7pm (AEDT), and will feature coverage of some fights on the undercard, as well as the main fight itself. You’ll also have access to replays at 6am, 12pm and 6pm on Thursday.
You need a valid Foxtel subscription to access Main Event, while the fight costs an additional $59.95 to watch.
Fortunately, sports fans can now watch Main Event fights on Kayo Sports. The fight still costs the normal $59.95 to view, but you don’t need to have a Kayo subscription on top of that.
You can access Kayo Sports on most smart devices, including phones, tablets, desktop computers, gaming consoles and even some smart TVs.
Given that you cannot access Main Event on Foxtel’s streaming services – Foxtel GO or Foxtel Now – this is the only way to catch a live stream of the fight tonight.
