There are two meetings to look at this Wednesday night, with my attention being at Redcliffe and Bathurst.

Down below are my best bets for the respective programs.

Redcliffe

Best bet – Race 4, No. 1: Recipe For Dreaming
His recent form doesn’t scream out as a coming good thing, but the two big ticks of Gate 1 and getting back to Redcliffe sways me towards his corner. He hasn’t been too bad lately at Albion Park, but he’s drawn the pole here, so should have little trouble holding the front and proving mighty hard to get past.

Next best bet – Race 10, No. 3: Slide To Unlock
I was on her back last Thursday here when a beaten odds-on pop, but like her debut, she was raw and new to the caper. I am hoping that for start three she’ll know what it’s all about, and with a front-line draw, it’ll be interesting to see if the jockey will be aggressive. I think she’s the one to beat.

Value bet – Race 9, No. 1: Somewhereinheaven
This is a bludger of a race, with a host winning claims, so I’m going to have a throw at the stumps in the shape of this veteran mare. She ran here last Wednesday night when getting a suck run from the pole and battled on pretty well to run fourth, beaten by just over four metres. She lands in a good spot once again, and I think she can run another positive race.

Best bet – Race 1, No. 5: Uncle Miki
He’s a two-year-old taking on the older horses, but he looks a very capable youngster. The change-up speed he produced when winning here last week was simply outstanding, and it was the win of a horse destined for better things. This looks like another stepping stone, and I’m confident it’ll be a successful one.

Next best bet – Race 2, No. 2: Chasing The Wind
He can be costly for punters, but I think his turn will come up here. He had the box-seat sit when racing here last week, and I thought he was entitled to put the race to bed given the run he had, but on the line he was held. The depth here isn’t as strong, and with the chance to get the box seat again I’m confident he can go one better.

Value bet – Race 4, No. 1: Im Major Harry
I think he can sneak a place at a decent price. He was dragged back from a wide gate when racing here last week, and I didn’t mind his finale when a solid fifth. He’s drawn the pole and could land leaders back, likely three back pegs. He’ll do no work in the run, and at a big price he’ll run a cheeky race.
