After an action-packed weekend of footy during this article I will be diving into the Sea Eagles possible chances of winning the premiership plus covering the Brisbane Broncos’ rare win.

The Manly Sea Eagles collected their third straight win of the season and have gained their sixth win in their last seven matches.

Manly started of the season winless after four rounds and I predicted at the start of the season that they would be lucky to win a game before Tom Trbojevic makes his return, which was nearly the case as they beat the Warriors in a one-point thriller in Round 5.

Manly entered back into the winner’s circle when Tom Trbojevic put on his Manly jumper for the first time this season as they left the Titans scoreless in a bashing a Mudgee.

There has been one man and one man only behind the drastic changing of the men in Maroon and White over the last seven weeks and that man is the one and only Tom Trbojevic.

Tommy Turbo in my opinion has been a top player in the competition since his return as I believe the only player that stands in front of him is Nathan Cleary.

Not only has Tom been superb but he has certainly changed the players around him because he establishes the defence perfectly and in attack Manly are better than gold.

I believe that Turbo is already one of, if not the, most impactful players that I’m have seen in my lifetime, however I am only 13 so I’m sure you older blokes can give me some players that contest Tom as most impactful.

The million-dollar question is should we consider the Manly Sea Eagles as true premiership contenders? From my point of view the Manly Sea Eagles are just about a locked in finals team, however we know that anything can happen during the season just like what we’ve seen to the Raiders lately.

If the Sea Eagles keep this up I believe that they are a serious team that could compete for a top-four spot, although I think they will not be able to be a serious threat to heavy weights like the Melbourne Storm and Penrith Panthers.

Broncos win
The Brisbane Broncos were able to create positive thoughts for Brisbane fans like me and many like me are booking the grand final tickets after a surprising win over the Sydney Roosters on Saturday.

Of course, I am joking with the grand final tickets however I was really happy with the boys performance on the weekend as it was probably our best performance in the last two seasons.

There was some rare fight in the side as after the Roosters scored our first try I thought to myself ‘well it was good while it lasted I suppose’.

However, this was not the case as a David Mead full field try put us on top at halftime and Sydney were not even capable of scoring a four pointer in the second half as the Broncos scored three consecutive tries.

Overall if Brisbane want to prove this was not a fluke they will have to at least compete with the Melbourne Storm this week and I for some reason feel confident in them as I have booked tickets to this Thursdays game.
