Two meetings to look at on Friday, with my attention being at Mildura and Albion Park. Down below are your best bets for the respective programs.

Mildura

Best bet: Race Two Number 4 On My Oath
Kate Hargreaves has another handy former WA pacer here that can build up a real picket fence in the form guide.

First up run for the camp came in a lowly race at Ararat where he led from the pole, got control and was a mile too good. Won’t get it as easy this time around, but still should be winning.

Next-best: Race Four Number 1 Mista Pumblechook
Has done little wrong this time in and she can continue that here. Was $101 when winning fresh, surprising many. Started $2.80 here last Friday and battled on pretty well after copping heat in the run. Looks to lead comfortably and prove hard to get past.

Value: Race Six Number 1 Blue Beach Angel
Happy to speck this mare each way at a price. I’d be quite forgiving of her past couple of runs here, each time seeing her sit wide no cover for the last part of the race and she has rightfully tired out of the finish.

Has a soft draw to use this time around and can run a much improved race at odds.

Albion Park

Best bet: Race Five Number 1 The Raconteur

Short but sweet here. Team Morris-trained three-year-old that has been excellent in two runs this prep, both coming here. Brave in defeat fresh after doing a power of work on speed, then led throughout and was dominant in winning. Should lead these and prove too good.

Next-best: Race One Number 1 Geldof
He hasn’t exactly set the world on fire in two runs for the new stable, but this race looks a lovely set up for him with the pole draw.

Forget he went around last time. Just did too much work in the run and was a tired horse. Should get a lovely run from the gate and a bounce back is on the cards.

Value: Race Three Number 1 Nesters Hill
Traditionally does his best racing away from Albion Park, but hard to knock the way he is going at the moment.

He was an eye-catcher last time out at Redcliffe after getting a fair way back in the run. If he can hold up from the inside gate, he’s in with a shout at a price.
