Since the lockdown and COVID spike in Sydney, this is a question that some have been asking.

After all, Sydney is transferring a home game to Newcastle against Melbourne so it makes sense. Let’s add the factors into this matter:

1. Sydney is in a lockdown until the 10th of July
2. Game 3 is on the 14th of July
3. The numbers could either increase or decrease

Now, let’s add in some extra input, irrespective of location.

Game 3 in Sydney: Someone who has COVID is there and a whole bunch of people from Hunter Valley and Queensland without it are there but one of them gets it. Simply put, it could spread there.

Game 3 in Newcastle: Someone from Sydney who could potentially have it travels to the game, passes it on to someone who lives in Newcastle or the Hunter Valley or potentially Queensland then the spread shall proceed (it better not).

Do the people in Sydney want this game?

Right now, they need to do all they can to reduce the numbers.

Three years running, I have been in the Blatchey’s Blues and I love it. I have been to State of Origin five times with three times in the Blatchey’s and it feels like a different environment as opposed to not being in there.

I’ll never forget my first experience in the area.

Game 2, 2018: NSW win the match and series 18-14, then there’s me hugging everyone nearby me running around like a chicken with its head cut off. It’s moments like those to me that makes memories I can laugh at.

So to all those in Sydney who want the game to be in Sydney, just remember, all you need to do is just get those numbers down. Think like this: Brisbane gets a game and if Sydney doesn’t, wouldn’t that be a slap in a face to us NSW fans?

I live in Newcastle and I actually wouldn’t mind the game to be here but I would actually prefer the game to be in Sydney because it’s traditional.

If the game should be relocated to Newcastle, I would call the Blatchey’s Blues area to be bays 2-8.

Should Game 3 be relocated to Newcastle?

If it has to be, but I would prefer it to be in Sydney.
