There are two meetings to look at on Tuesday, with my focus at Albion Park and Menangle.

Below are the best bets for the respective programs.

Albion Park

Best bet: Race 3, Number 1, Misty Creek
This guy did the right thing for us last Thursday against the older horses and now back to his own age, I’m keen on him. That win against the older horses came at Redcliffe where he led throughout and was quite dominant in the way he drew clear. He should have little trouble leading and proving hard to get past.

Next best: Race 8, Number 5, Carlos Bromac
I’ll bank on this former Kiwi getting it right under the care of the McCarthy camp. This guy built up a solid record back in NZ with okay form around him. A recent trial was more than a pass mark and the stable rarely get it wrong when it comes to having one in the camp from across the ditch.

Value: Race 10, Number 1, Another Statement
He’s worth an each-way ticket in the get out. This horse is a Shannon Price-trained four-year-old that should be forgiven for his last-start down-the-track effort. He got a mile out of his ground from a wide second-row draw and just couldn’t figure in the finish. Now he has drawn the pole, he should get run-of-the-race stuff.

Best bet: Race 2, Number 4, Aldebaran Revani
He’s the most fascinating runner on the program but is potentially the best runner on the program. He is a former US trotter that makes his Australian debut for the McCarthy camp. The trotting ranks in the US are very strong so when they head abroad, they should be respected and followed with confidence. He has trialled up sharply in readiness, and with gate speed, finds the lead and wins.

Next best: Race 3, Number 3, Ad Maiora
This horse looks beautifully placed. This horse is a Team Morris-trained three-year-old that was game in defeat here from off the speed last Tuesday when second. The depth here is nowhere near as strong. He should find the front and prove very hard to get past with Robert Morris to steer.

Value: Race 4, Number 1, Pocket More For Less
Numerically, his form doesn’t scream a coming winner, but he’s going well and is a definite winning chance. He did a really good job from near last in the run when racing here last time out. He has drawn the pole this time around, can settle much closer in the run and be dangerous at odds.
