There are two meetings to look at on Tuesday, with my focus on Albion Park and Menangle.

Albion Park

Best bet – Race 1, No. 1: Indy Jewel
Short but sweet to start the program. This is a Bernie Hewitt-trained filly that had her first run in this part of the world at this track last Tuesday, and I thought she was a definite pass mark when third. She should hold the lead comfortably from the draw. All things being equal, she wins.

Next best bet – Race 7, No. 10: First String
Despite the second-row draw, he’s the one to beat for the McCarthy camp. It wasn’t the strongest field he beat up at Redcliffe last time out, but he was dominant in getting the job done. He’ll likely be spotting his key rival a start, but I’ll bank on the McCarthy camp knowing what they are doing.

Value – Race 2, No. 6: Hello Jolene Jolene
This mare does have talent when she puts it together. The problem is more often than not she doesn’t put it together, so you’ll get a decent price about this girl. This race is pretty thin in terms of depth, and if she does step away cleanly and do everything right, she’ll look the winner at some stage.

Best bet – Race 4, No. 4: Our Madiba
Class should get this gelding home. He was massive in defeat on Saturday night here in what was a strong metro race, much stronger than what he faces here, just missing out on the win in a 1.51.49 mile rate. That form should be trusted, and he’s the good thing on the program.

Next best bet – Race 2, No. 6: No More Promises
She looks a great bet back to her own age. She debuted against the older horses here last Tuesday and was far from disgraced in defeat after getting a fair way back in the run. She finds a very thin juvenile race and really only has to run up to the debut effort to be taking this out.

Value – Race 6, No. 2: Topsky
I can make a little case for this guy at a big price. I’d be forgiving of his run here last Tuesday. He did far too much work on speed and tired late. From the draw, he’ll go to the pegs to do no work, and if the breaks go his way in the straight, he’s a shout for sure at big odds.
