The Queensland Maroons will be playing for pride and will be desperately trying to avoid a New South Wales Blues clean sweep of the 2021 State of Origin series when the two sides play at the Gold Coast’s Cbus Super Stadium tonight.
It’s been a logistical nightmare for the NRL to organise Game 3 after the match was first moved from Sydney to Newcastle and then subsequently forced to head up north to the Gold Coast when the COVID situation in NSW made the game untenable to be played in the Blue state.
As a result, we may not see a sell-out crowd tonight, although cheaper tickets may see a rush to the gates at the last minute.
Despite the changes, the entertainment is still locked in with Lime Cordiale and rapper JK-47 to take to the stage before the match.
The pre-match entertainment is scheduled to start at approximately 7:35pm (AEST) which will be followed by a Welcome to Country and the National Anthem.
For those attending the match, the Queensland government has sent out a reminder that it will be mandatory to wear a mask when entering, exiting and moving around the stadium.
6:30pm – Gates open
7:35pm – Pre-match entertainment commences, featuring Sheppard
8:10pm – State of Origin Game 3, kick-off
8:55pm – State of Origin Game 3, half time
9:11pm – State of Origin Game 3, second half kick-off

10:10pm – Presentation including Man of the Match and Series awards
All times are listed in AEST (Sydney/Melbourne time). Note that all times are approximate and subject to change
