There are two meetings to look at on Saturday night, with my focus at Albion Park and Menangle.

Below are the best bets for the respective programs.

Albion Park

Best bet: Race 10, Number 1, Cat King Cole
She’s the best two-year-old filly in Queensland and should resume with a win. She took all before her last time in, headlined by a breathtaking win in the Gold Bullion at this track. The two trials leading in have been strong and even with bad luck, she’ll be too good for this lot as she heads towards Group 1 targets.

Next best: Race 4, Number 13, Pink Galahs
She will have to defy history in this race because no horse has won two heats and then the final. But she’s one of the best trotters in Australia and I’d say she’s the best trotting mare in Australasia. Her two heat wins have been outstanding, with her brilliant turn of foot coming to the fore. She just has to step away cleanly and she’ll quite clearly be the one to beat.

Value: Race 7, Number 7, Turn It Up
He’s drawn outside the front row in the feature race of the meeting, but he does have electric gate speed when asked to go from the mobile and being a Group 1, his only chance of winning is going forward. His recent efforts at this level have been sound and should he find the front, he’ll give cheek despite the fact he’ll have top-class horse flesh chasing him.

Menangle

Best bet: Race 6, Number 2, Ardens Ace
This quality three-year-old from NZ makes his Australian debut for the Binskin camp and I am confident it will be a winning debut. His latest run was May 21 in a listed race at Addington when the horse finished a game second. He has produced good gate speed when racing in NZ, so should lead and from there it will be a painless watch.

Next best: Race 5, Number 6, Ignatius
He can bounce back into the winners list. This horse was really plain two back in the JD Watts Memorial when a short-priced elect. He had a mini freshen-up and ran here last Saturday where he was very good from the back. This horse should press forward early and if he can land a decent spot, potentially 1/1, he has class and that will carry him a long way.

Value: Race 2, Number 2, Outrageous El
I can make a 1×3 speck at big odds for this guy. He ran here three weeks ago where he drew awkwardly and couldn’t come on in a plain effort. He hasn’t had much luck in recent times but that all changes here. He should do no work from the soft gate and he can sneak a place at a price.
