Channel 7 AFL commentator Brian Taylor was taken to a Melbourne hospital with “minor injuries” suffered in a gas explosion at his property in Gippsland.
Channel 7 news reported the 59-year old was airlifted to Alfred Hospital for treatment for minor burns to his face.
It was reported that Taylor was doing maintenance on a hot water system at his farm
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said paramedics treated a man for upper body injuries.
The local fire brigade, Erica and District Fire Brigade, shared a photo of the incident with the following statement.
“Assisting Ambulance Victoria in Walhalla this afternoon with a minor gas explosion from a gas fridge causing injuries to a male occupant of the household, who was airlifted to hospital for treatment,” it said.
“We wish them speedy recovery.”
Taylor is expected to be available to call the AFL finals this weekend.
