The group stage clashes for the biggest club tournament have been set up after a riveting draw and like every other time, they don’t disappoint.

Here are the biggest player clashes that we will get to see in the UEFA Champions League group stage this season.

1. Manchester City versus PSG
After splashing the clash in a busy summer transfer window, both oil clubs are looking to get their hands on the Champions League for the first time in their history.

It will be an enthralling encounter, arguably between the best squads in club football.

Match-ups: Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez versus Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

2. Atletico Madrid versus Liverpool
It will be a rematch of a memorable round of 16 encounter in 2020 between the two giants when the Spanish side defeated the defending champions to move to the next round.

Match-ups: Luis Suarez, Jose Gimenez and Jan Oblak versus Mo Salah, Virgil Van Dijk, Alisson Becker.

3. Bayern Munich versus Barcelona
It is an encounter that everyone in the world is looking forward to except for Barcelona fans.

Match-ups: Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller and Manuel Neuer versus Antoine Griezmann, Pedri and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

4. Real Madrid versus Inter Milan
A reinveting Madrid side under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti will be up against the in-form Inter Milan with newfound confidence after lifting the Serie A.

Match-ups: Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Eden Hazard versus Lautaro Martinez, Edin Dzeko and Nicolo Barella.

5. Manchester United versus Villareal
In a rematch of the UEFA Europa League final, the English side will be out for revenge against their Spanish counterparts.

But even if they do manage to get two wins, it won’t count for much as last season’s Europa League trophy comfortably rests in Villareal’s cabinet.

Match-ups: Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba versus Gerard Moreno, Dani Parejo and Pau Torres.

6. Juventus versus Chelsea
A blazing Chelsea side will turn up to defend their UEFA Champions League title against a Juventus side that did not look very strong last season and barely managed to qualify for this season’s Champions League.

However, it would be foolish to count the Italian giants out of the clash because whenever there’s Cristiano Ronaldo, there’s hope.

Match-ups: Cristiano Ronaldo, Federico Chiesa and Leonardo Bonucci versus Romelu Lukaku, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante.
