Two meetings to look at on Thursday, Redcliffe and Charlton my focus. Here are the best bets for the respective programs.

Redcliffe

Best Bet: Race 1, Number 2, Slide To Unlock:

She’s had a few chances to break the maiden, but this might well be her day because the depth is very much on the thin side. Grant Dixon trained filly that has been racing well this time in. Only problem being she hasn’t won. But given the set up and the lead being there for her, she should get win one on the board.

Next Best: Race 3, Number 2, Digyourheelsin:

Should make it 2/2 for the new camp. Formerly with the Hutchinson team, she’s now with Colin Godden where the first run came here on Monday night, making an absolute mess of them from a second-row draw. Drawn much better this time around, think she only has to hold her form to be winning again.

Value: Race 5, Number 1, Rousey:

Reckon this mare can run a cheeky race at a price. Has had three runs back from a spell and for the most part hasn’t been too bad, and with excuses, doing work on speed on a couple of occasions. Drawn the pole, she’ll do no work in the run and prove hard to beat at odds.

Chartlon

Best Bet: Race 2, Number 9, The Kingsman:

If he does everything right, he wins. Former Kiwi that was short odds when making his Australian debut at Terang where he galloped and lost all hope, letting his army of supporters down. This race is very much on the thin side so he just has to bring good manners to be winning IMO.

Next Best: Race 1, Number 1, Hadtobeharry:

Lightly raced trotter that is still learning his craft but no doubting he has a good engine. Debuted with an eye catching fourth at Ballarat before going to Maryborough when forced to sit parked before galloping under pressure. If he does everything right, he’ll take a power of beating here.

Value: Race 6, Number 1, Vapar Rocks:

Think he gets his perfect set up of trailing the speed, the set up which saw him win three back at Ballarat. His manners haven’t been 100% his past couple so there has been excuses for those flops. Should get a trail behind the leader and via the sprint lane, he can be quite dangerous.
