There are two meetings to look at on Tuesday, with Albion Park and Menangle getting my focus.

Below are the best bets for the respective programs.

Albion Park

Best bet: Race 1, Number 6, Dreamee
This horse has done little wrong since coming to Queensland from Victoria and I’m confident he’ll make it three on the bounce. This horse had a dominant win here last Tuesday from a 20-metre handicap. It is an identical set-up this time around, so all things being equal, he should be winning.

Next best: Race 3, Number 5, Uncle Shank
It is not an ideal gate, but he does have a clear class edge on his rivals. Forgive his last start effort behind Captain Crusader after doing too much work on speed. This horse is much better suited here and if he can slot in from the sticky draw, he’ll be much too good for this lot.

Value: Race 4, Number 8, Bondi Shake
He is going better than what his recent form would suggest. This horse had a little luck two back at Redcliffe, then raced here last time out when contacting another sulky, losing momentum and should have finished closer. If he can land leaders back here, he’ll be quite dangerous at odds.

Menangle

Best bet: Race 2, Number 6, My Ultimate Cobber
This horse is a smart youngster for the Rickie Alchin camp that should make it two from two this time in. This horse led throughout to win fresh at Penrith and ran a fast mile rate for a juvenile at that tight track. This horse has good gate speed so should be able to find the front and from there, he can dominate proceedings.

Next best: Race 4, Number 10, Madrid
It is not often you see a juvenile run 26.3 for their last quarter but that is what this girl did last start and she was impressive. This horse won by 29 metres but it could have been further. This horse is a potential star and despite drawing wide, she has the gate speed to lead and take a power of beating.

Value: Race 6, Number 2, The Longest Day
He’s worth a speck at a price. I’ve been on his back a couple of times in recent runs, and he has let me down. The saving grace is the draw, where he should do no work on the pegs. I am not sure he wins, but in terms of a 1×3 bet, he’s certainly worthy of that kind of bet.
