Two meetings to look at on Thursday, with Redcliffe and Penrith getting my focus. Down below are your best bets for the respective programs.

Best Bet: Race 1, Number 1, Misty Creek
Talented juvenile and confident he can lead throughout here. Those are the tactics that were used when racing here last Thursday and the end result was a commanding win. Bit more depth this week, but with the pole, should hold the lead and prove hard to get past.

Next-best: Race 4, Number 1, Betting Origin
Happy to be in his corner in what looks an even race on paper and on form, but the barrier is a big help for him. Led throughout and was dominant last time out at Albion Park. Has placed in both runs at Redcliffe and with the gate, I think he can lead and hopefully go gate to wire.

Value: Race 6, Number 1, Watts Up Letsplay
I think she’s a good each way gamble, hopefully at double figure odds. Had the box seat sit when racing here last week and battled away well when beaten two metres, finishing third. From the pole, she’ll land box seat again and in a thin race, I think she’s in with a shout.

Best bet: Race 1, Number 1, Double Lines
Hasn’t set the world on fire in six career outings, but he comes up in what looks a really thin race, and with the pole, he gets a great chance to change his fortunes. Far from disgraced at this track last time out in what was a much stronger race than this. Should hold the front and be hard to beat.

Next-best: Race 7, Number 2, Highview Sadler
This looks good placement by Leon Jurd. Model of consistency this time in, in much stronger races than what he faces here. Has the good draw to use his gate speed and the way I’m reading this race, he finds the front comfortably and from there, it’ll take a good one to get past him.

Value: Race 2, Number 1, My Buzz Lightning
I think he’s a great bet at good odds with the run he’s likely to get. Hasn’t been far away in two runs back from a break, but comes up with the coveted ace barrier here, where he will likely get the box seat behind the leader, stablemate and favourite, so he’ll get the right run and at goods, he’s worth an each way ticket for sure.
