Two meetings to look at on Saturday night, with my attention at Tabcorp Park Melton and Tabcorp Park Menangle. Down below are the best bets for the respective programs.

Tabcorp Park Melton

Best Bet: Race 7, Number 2, Jilliby Sylvester
This looks his race. He’s a beauty for Marg Lee and his run last Saturday behind a star in Honolua Bay was very good from the pole when third. Clear class drop for him here, he should find the front and if he gets a cheap furlong or two, good luck beating him I’d suggest.

Next Best: Race 1, Number 3, Rossini
I think he’s a great bet to start the night. I’d be very forgiving of his run here last Friday night. Just did a bit too much early work to find the lead, which took away his finale when fifth, but far from disgraced in defeat. Drawn much better with less front end pressure, he’ll lead and prove hard to run down.

Value: Race 6, Number 1, Somewhere Secret
I’m hoping he doesn’t get involved in a speed battle and can hold a forward spot without spending too many petrol tickets. Has been freshened up since an okay effort at Swan Hill last time out behind Malcolms Rhythm. This isn’t a strong FFA so I think he’s worth an each way ticket.

Tabcorp Park Menangle
Best Bet: Race 6, Number 12, Expensive Ego

The second row draw is interesting for him, but he’s got the potential to be the best horse in Australia and I don’t think the second row draw will stop him. He smashed the clock from the front when winning here last time and the tick over trial was very sharp. Barring bad luck, he just wins.

Next Best: Race 5, Number 1, Our Uncle Same (Place)
The jury is out on him because no doubting that on his QLD prep, he’s nowhere near the horse he was once upon a time. But, he has a fabulous record at Menangle and from the pole, he should land box seat behind the hot pot King Of Swing. I don’t think he can beat him, but is a great bet for second/third.

Value: Race 8, Number 3, Just Believe
Majestic Man, at his best, wins comfortably, but jury is out on him IMO. So I’m going to speck Just Believe. He was a surprising but dominant winner four back at Bendigo and in his subsequent runs, he has been far from disgraced. He’ll get a suck run from the draw and 1×3 at big odds, I can back him.
