Two meetings to look at on Thurday, with Charlton and Redcliffe getting my focus. Down below are my best bets for the respective programs.

Charlton
Best Bet: Race 5, Number 2, Tay Tay

She’ll be short but she should be winning. Very classy filly that was excellent during the Breeders Crown Series, running fourth in the Final to a star in Ladies In Red.

With the front line draw, should have little trouble holding the lead and from there, it’ll be painless.

Next Best: Race 7, Number 10, Life Happens
Sharp filly that I think can resume a winner. Emma Stewart trains this girl, who has had one start, which came here in June when a strong winner. Been given a good break but thought her recent trial was very good, running fast late splits. Runs up to that, never mind her debut, she’ll make it 2/2.

Value: Race 9, Number 1, Sunstar
I think he’s worth an each way ticket at double figures. Lance Justice trains and will take the drive. He has placed in three of six career outings, including last start at Swan Hill when racing from the second line.

From the pole, I think he’ll lead and if he can get a cheap furlong or two, he’ll take catching at odds.

Redcliffe
Best Bet: Race 3, Number 1, Special Meaning

Just looks an ideal race for this guy. Has only won the one from 19, but has been close up on a number of occasions. Had a second row draw when racing here last time out and closed off his race nicely when third, beaten six metres. From the pole, he’ll either lead or box seat. Either way, he’s clearly the one to beat.

Next Best: Race 1, Number 2, The Crom
76 starts and yet to win a race, so that is an obvious concern, but I think he has done little wrong since coming to Queensland and with a good draw, hopefully start 77 will be lucky for him. He was good from gate six last time when a closing fourth. If he can find the front from the better draw, he’ll take beating.

Value: Race 7, Number 7, Call Me Trish
I think she’s a great each way bet here just purely based on the speed map. Master Charles should hold the lead from the pole and in turn, this mare will get the suck run and a look via the sprint lane. Recent efforts have been more than sound and she’ll only run well here.
