There are two meetings to look at on Tuesday, with Menangle and Albion Park getting my attention. Below are the best bets for the respective programs.

Menangle

Best bet: Race 3, Number 6, Elroy Jetson
It’s a perfect set-up for him here. He races best when off the speed and allowed to unleash a brilliant finale and that is what he should get here via the small field. This horse closed off strongly at Maitland last time but looks much better suited on the bigger track and is a great bet.

Next best: Race 1, Number 1, Make Mine Muscle
It’s a really thin race and drawn the pole, he’s the way to go in the opener. This horse resumed here where he had a soft spot nearer the inside and battled on okay when fourth, beaten by just under ten metres. He has the speed to hold up and in front, he’s the one to beat.

Value: Race 6, Number 3, Scottie Mach
He’s worth a small 1×3 bet at odds. This horse had a suck run on the pegs when racing here last time out and battled away pretty well in defeat when third, beaten by some 14 metres. He should get a similar run this time around and potentially sitting off a hot speed, he could be dangerous late with clear air.

Best bet: Race 8, Number 1, Four Starzzz Forza
From the pole and in front, he’s the one they have to beat. This horse had a solid NSW stint before racing here last week where he did work in the run and battled away okay late when a close-up third. He has the pole and should have little trouble holding up. He’s the one they have to beat.

Next best: Race 6, Number 1, Run Business Run
With a solid camp from NSW and in his first run in a Queensland campaign, I like him here. This horse just did a bit too much work at Leeton last time when pressing forward but battled away okay when third. From the inside gate, he looks the likely leader and that is the A1 spot to be for this horse.

Value: Race 3, Number 1, Back To Betoota
He rises a fair bit in grade, but he has a good engine under the hood. Both of this horse’s career outings have come at Redcliffe, last time out overcoming a second-row draw for a strong win. He’ll get a suck run on the pegs and in what looks like an even contest, he’s worth a speck.
