Wolverhampton manager Bruno Lage has refused to rule out the possibility of Adama Traore leaving the club during the January window, with multiple clubs across Europe keen to sign the 25-year-old Spaniard – and Tottenham Hotspur looming as the most interested party.

Click here to stay up to date on the latest Premier League transfer rumours.

That interest is rumoured to be advantageous to Arsenal, with another key bidder potentially out of the equation in its quest to land Tariq Lamptey, a player reportedly valued at around the £50 million mark and one destined to be a Premier League star of the future.

Brighton will financially benefit from the deal should such an estimation prove accurate, yet any low-balling from interested parties will see the over-achieving club extremely disappointed and unlikely to part with one of its most valuable assets.

Brighton has another considerable pawn in the form of Yves Bissouma, with Aston Villa and Liverpool reportedly keen on the 25-year-old Mali international.

A fee of around £50 million has been circled as a rumoured value and Jurgen Klopp showed keep interest back in September. Should Brighton let two men go of such quality, they will undoubtedly be cashed up and able to bring in considerable talent, yet the question remains as to what those losses would do to a club punching well above its weight in the 2021/22 Premier League season.

After all the huff and puff of big and powerful Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, West Ham United and Newcastle, the signature of Lucas Digne is rumoured to be close to landing on a contract with Aston Villa, a potentially enormous move with Phillipe Coutinho also about to make his debut for the famous club.

Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombele is apparently on a list of players that the London club is looking to sell or loan during January, yet offers and interest have not exactly been flooding in.

A whisper suggesting Roma may be interested is unconfirmed and it appears there may be an awkward month ahead for the 25-year-old Frenchman, who still appears to let his frustrations and personal aspirations interfere with what might be best for team harmony and stability.

Quite frankly, I’m not sure any Premier League would take on a player who comes with such an element of risk and the potential ability to destroy the very emotional fabric upon which successful teams are built.

Newcastle United have lodged their interest in Burnley striker Chris Wood, with the New Zealand international likely to be very interested in the approach, considering where the club appears to be heading in the short term.

Rumours are that the deal is nigh, with Newcastle manager Eddie Howe keen to turn his club’s season around as soon as possible and Burnley hopeful of using the considerable funds to stabilise and potentially escape the drop in 2022.

However, any thoughts Newcastle had of snaring Samuel Umtiti have now evaporated, with the brilliant defender extending his time at Barcelona on a lesser sum and a figure that will free up enough funds to allow the club to register new recruit Ferran Torres.

Chelsea are keen to bring Emerson Palmieri back to the club to fill a potential void at left-back, yet Olympic Lyon are not too keen to see the loan deal in which they acquired the Italian international end. Some form of compensation paid to the French club may be the only way in which the Blues get the talented defender back in the fold.

West Ham and Leeds remain interested in Marseille star Boubacar Kamara, yet his recent wage demand of £150,000 per week may well see Manchester United now become the favourite in the race to land his signature. It looks a deal most likely to be done in the summer, yet with Newcastle United and a recently fattened up purse also on the scene, who knows if the eagerness to attract Kamara to England could accelerate the process.

In true Premier League fashion, any deal for the young Frenchman appears almost certain to be founded simply on the club with the most financial clout landing a potential star.

Unless other clubs can find a unique selling point to lure a player potentially capable of earning a little more elsewhere and offer playing minutes not assured at the bigger club, it appears one of the best young talents around will be headed to a very predictable destination.

The transfer window action continues to ramp up on a daily basis and Tuesday looms as a pivotal day. Be sure to stick with The Roar for all the rumours and deals as the week progresses.
