After thoroughly dominating the ODI series, India have now also won the T20I series.

In the third T20I, the West Indies won the toss and put India to bat which looked the right decision at that point of time.

The visitors broke the opening partnership very early in the innings as young Ruturaj Gaikwad was dismissed by veteran Caribbean all-rounder Jason Holder.

India kept maintaining the run rate wisely until Hayden Walsh got better of Shreyas Iyer.

Ishan Kishan too didn’t last long after Iyer’s dismissal as he was undone by the arm ball of Roston Chase. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma’s scratchy innings was bought to an end by a brilliant delivery of Dominic Drakes as he was dismissed for 7 of 15 deliveries.

The visitors had kept their hosts curbed until Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer started to maul the Caribbean bowlers all around the arena.

India scored 86 runs in the last five overs of their innings courtesy of Suryakumar Yadav’s 65 (31) and Venkatesh Iyer’s unbeaten 35 (19), which helped India to post a winning total of 184/5 in their 20 overs.
Now, it was time for the Windies to see if they can escape a whitewash, but they were undone by a very seriously talented Indian bowling attack.
Deepak Chahar got Kyle Mayers in the very first over of the innings which forced the Caribbean vice-captain Nichols Pooran to come and handle the situation very early – earlier than expected.

Pooran was handling the situation very well but he was running out of support at the other end. Rowman Powell played a handy innings but it was not enough to escape the whitewash.

Nicholas Pooran did put up a fight as he scored 61 of 47 balls but he too popped one up in the air and Ishan Kishan took a nice catch at the end.

The Windies were restricted to 167/9 in the inconsequential contest as they lost the game by 17 runs and the series 3-0.

Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers for the Indian side for his appreciable performance of 4-22-3.
Suryakumar Yadav was awarded man of the match for his explosive 65 off just 31 balls.
