Two meetings to look at on Tuesday, with Redcliffe and Mildura getting my focus.

Redcliffe

Best bet: Race 4, Number 1, Speak The Truth
Has a touch of class on his side and confident he can resume a winner. Hasn’t raced since July when a game second at Group l level in the Triad Final behind Awaywego. Two trials to get ready for his return and from the pole, think he can lead and take a power of beating.

Next best: Race 1, Number 5, Father Christmas
At 11 years of age, he’s racing as well as ever. Ran here last Tuesday where he did a bit of work to find the front and from there, it was race over and he was dominant. Only two runs at the track but last start showed he handles it find and despite a 10m handicap, he’s clearly the one to beat.

Value: Race 5, Number 1, Catch Phrase
He has a good draw to run a decent race at odds. I’d be forgiving of his run last time out given he was going forward early but got stuck quite wide so he was snagged back and just couldn’t get involved. He should get a charmed run in transit and only run well.

Mildura

Best bet: Race 2, Number 3, Bobsled Boy
This should be a pretty painless watch. Alex Ashwood has taken over this five year old his past two starts and it has resulted in a couple of dominant wins, the latest coming here last Wednesday where he led and was far too good. He should lead again and prove too good.

Next best: Race 5, Number 4, Miss Social Media
This mare should take a power of beating, ideally from the front. Got the lead last time out when racing here and she made a mess of them in a brilliant display, running solid time. Bit of front row speed here, but think she finds the front and should take beating once again.

Value: Race 7, Number 7, Mota Mate
This gelding is worth a throw at the stumps at odds. He has won his past two, and each time he has overcome the second row. He gets a similar draw, but follows out the likely leader and should get the run of the race. From there, he’ll only run a positive race at a decent price.
