Two meetings to look at on Wednesday night, with my attention at Redcliffe and Ballarat.

Redcliffe

Best bet: Race 1, Number 2, Mi Furioso Toro
The inside gate should be used to advantage and he should be winning. He has been racing well in recent times but has drawn terribly, his latest effort being a close up second at Marburg. He should be able to find the front from the gate and from there, he’ll take a power of beating.

Next best: Race 2, Number 1, Bonnies A Rockin
Really like this mare back in trip. Dominant win at this trip two back before stepping up to 2040m last time and that saw her out. She has the pole once again to use her gate speed and lead, and back to the 1780m, it’ll take a good one to get past her.

Value: Race 6, Number 1, Schooby
Tricky race but this gelding is worth a throw at the stumps at the odds. He was far from disgraced at big odds last time out at Marburg after getting a suck run behind the speed. That is the run he should get here and on a bigger track, he’s worth an each-way ticket.

Ballarat

Best bet: Race 7, Number 6, Megeve
This mare is racing in a real purple patch at the moment and confident she can win again. Won from this gate three back at Cranbourne, then was good in defeat at Yarra Valley before returning to the winners list at Geelong. She’ll press forward and prove hard to hold out.

Next best: Race 4, Number 1, Mister Hunter
This colt will take beating on debut. He is having his first start for Vince Dicocco off the back of some solid trial efforts. He has the inside gate to use, he does appear to have gate speed and in an even race for the juveniles, this starter can run a bold race and take this out.

Value: Race 9, Number 8, Rejuvenate
Throw at the stumps in the get out. 11 years of age is this mare, but amazingly, this will only be start 15. Her manners aren’t great hence why she has the ODM draw, but if she puts it together, she does have the ability and really, this is a very thin. She’ll be decent each way odds so you don’t need to risk too much.
