Dual rugby code New Zealand hero Sonny Bill Williams will step into the ring with former AFL hard man and premiership flag winner Barry Hall tonight in Sydney, as the two top the bill in an awesome night of boxing. The Roar has all the information you need to watch this event.

Following his boxing debut in May 2009, the dual Rugby World Cup winning Sonny Bill is undefeated in his eight bouts with three wins by knock out.

In contrast, Barry Hall has only fought once back in 2019 when he drew with Paul Gallen in a six round fight.

SBW is taking the fight against Hall very seriously and has based himself at his custom built Carlton training gym as he prepares to take on the former AFL forward.

While many might feel that these bouts between former sports heroes aren’t to be taken seriously, the two fighters are highly focused for the battle ahead and there’s been a compelling war of words between the two with SBW coming out last week and criticising Hall.

“He’s come out and branded me arrogant but I just see him, the last few months just shows what type of character he is – very, very arrogant,” said Williams.

In response, Hall came back at the former rugby hero by saying “That’s fine, I also heard he said he’s not a trash talker and after those comments I agree with him.”
