Two meetings to look at on Thursday, with Marburg and Bendigo getting my focus. Down below is best bets for the respective programs.

Marburg

Best bet: Race 1, Number 1, Feel Your Way

This mare has been runner up her past four, clearly knocking on the door to win one and I think she gets a great chance here. Raced at this track last Thursday where she opted for cover from this gate and battled away well when second. I think she’ll hold the lead this time around and take beating.

Next-best: Race 2, Number 2, Captain Shuffles

Handy three-year-old that resumes and I am confident he can resume a winner. Hasn’t raced since August 26 when making an absolute mess of them at Redcliffe, overcoming a second row draw. Trialled up well leading in and should he find the front, it’s race over.

Value: Race 5, Number 1, Straytothepoolroom

Tricky race but happy to speck this guy at odds. He’s had the pole draw his past couple and has been okay without setting the world on fire, but he does look to find a very thin race here, and should he be able to hold a forward spot, he only runs well.

Bendigo

Best bet: Race 12, Number 2, Cote De Or

If she does everything right, I think she wins. Going to be right in the finish last time out but galloped under pressure on the turn and threw her chance away. I think she’ll find the front here, and third up from a spell, should be hard fit. Just hope she brings her best manners.

Next-best: Race 1, Number 1, Soho Lumine

I think this filly can make a winning debut. Well bred and comes into this off the back of a pretty solid trial effort where she was on the pegs before getting clear and working to the line nicely. I think she has enough early speed to lead and from in front, she’s the one they have to beat.

Value: Race 10, Number 1, Lady Of The Arts

From the pole and back a bit in depth, she’s worth an each-way ticket. She has been hard in the market in both runs back from a spell and has failed to set the world on fire. I think you have to respect how solid she has been in betting in the runs this time in, so happy to back her each way.
