Two meetings to look at on Wednesday, with my attention at Redcliffe and Bathurst.

Redcliffe

Best bet: Race 3, Number 1, She Owns The Day
She gets a great chance to get back onto the winners’ list. Led three back and was run down late. Two back the wide gate sealed her fate and her latest run, on Saturday night here, the class of Jasper was too much. She finds a thin race, an ideal map, should lead and take beating.

Next best: Race 4, Number 1, Nina Simone
This mare wins if she brings anywhere near her best. Jury is somewhat out on her, but this former Grant Dixon mare is now with Shane Graham and a change of scenery can do wonders, especially in this part of the world. She has the gate speed to lead and if she’s ready to go, she can lead throughout.

Value: Race 7, Number 1, Champagne Reactor
I doubt this mare can win, but something small each-way at odds might be worth a speck, especially from the pole. Hasn’t raced in over a month after a couple of plain runs so the freshen up should do her the world of good and if she can land leaders back, she’s a definite place chance.

Bathurst

Best bet: Race 3, Number 3, Captn Me
She’ll be short but all things being equal, she should be winning. Has been a revelation since joining Jack Trainor’s camp, winning four on the bounce and has been impressive each time she has stepped out. Should find the front and it should be a relatively painless watch. Likely to be quite short so anchor in multis.

Next best: Race 2, Number 1, Alta Classic
Pretty keen on this gelding to return into the winners list. One from one at the track and has been far from disgraced in two subsequent runs. He comes up with a draw to use gate speed so think he can hold the lead and from in front, I can’t see much depth behind him.

Value: Race 5, Number 1, Aunty Bella
Double figures is a good enough price to back each way. Hasn’t done much wrong in four runs back from a spell and maps to get the dream sit behind the leader. Barriers haven’t been kind to her in recent starts but comes up with the pole here, so expecting a positive run.
