Two meetings to look at on Tuesday, with my focus at Albion Park and Shepparton. Down below are the best bets for the respective programs.

Albion Park

Best bet: Race 2, Number 6, Watts Up Sunshine

He’ll be short but he’ll be winning. Not sure he was 100 per cent happy around Redcliffe two back when second. He then went to this track where he sat parked but he appreciated bigger surroundings and made an absolute mess of them. Barring bad luck, he’s too good for this lot.

Next-best: Race 4, Number 1, Dangerzone

Gee, there is some depth to this line-up for the three-year-olds. But it looks a very kind map for this Jack Butler-trained gelding. He has gapped them his past couple at Redcliffe, giving them a lesson from the front. I think he’ll be better suited on the bigger track and from in front, he’ll take beating.

Value: Race 5, Number 1, Rancho Man

He’ll get a suck run from the pole and 1×3 at odds, he’s worth a speck. He ran at this track last Tuesday where he had this gate but didn’t get the best of luck and was unlucky not to finish closer when fifth. He should get run of the race and in an even race, he’s worth an each-way speck.

Shepparton

Best bet: Race 9, Number 2, Classic Mix Up

This is a very tricky program on paper so not jumping up and down with confidence with these three but she’s the best. She’s had good gates in both career outings, and while she hasn’t won, she has been far from disgraced in defeat, placing each time. She’ll lead and take beating.

Next-best: Race 11, Number 4, Silky Smooth Excuse

I think if she finds the front, she’s the one to beat. Hasn’t won in a while but she is knocking on the door, placing at her past couple, the latest at Ballarat. She races best when leading, so if she can cross and find the top, I think she then becomes quite clearly the one to run down.

Value: Race 6, Number 1, Motu Hot Topic

Last time he won a race, rainbows were black and white, but this looks a very thin race. Thought he did a really good job from a nasty gate at Echuca last time when third after covering ground. Gets run of the race from the pole and at double figure odds, I think he’s worth a speck.
