Two meetings to look at on Wednesday, with Redcliffe and Bathurst getting my attention.

Redcliffe

Best bet: Race 1, Number 6, Sumomentsomewhere
Drawing outside the front row is tough, especially here, but he is a horse who is flying and if he was to find the front and get control, it’ll be a case of thank you linesmen and thank you ball boys. He has won three on the bounce, the latest being an arrogant win at Albion Park last Tuesday in dominant fashion. Confident he wins, either if leading or coming from behind the pace.

Next best: Race 5, Number 2, Jelignite Jack
He does his best racing when leading and he finally gets a set up where that eventuates. His recent form hasn’t been too bad but hasn’t had much luck with gates and in much stronger races than this. He should find the front here and leading, he’ll take a power of beating.

Value: Race 8, Number 1, Sweet Scoot
Worth an each way speck in a tricky race. Resumed a couple of weeks back here where she drew the same gate as here, landing a good sit behind the speed and battled away well when second. There is a bit more depth this time around but gets a suck run and she’s worth a throw at the stumps.

Best bet: Race 9, Number 3, Flat Biccy
Two-year-old on debut but off the trials, he’s above average and should make a winning debut. Has won three of four trials, dating back to February, and he has run time, looking to move well. Market will be the guide as to how he’s going, but he comes here to rock and roll.

Next best: Race 4, Number 2, Beale Street
He has been dominant his past couple and confident he can make it three on the bounce. Easy win at this track two back before going to Menangle when a short priced elect and bolted up in solid time. Good depth here, but he should find the front and take a power of beating.

Value: Race 10, Number 9, The Handsome One
Very low race this and he’s a low horse, but he’s worth an each way ticket. Was on his back last time out here but galloped shortly after the start and that put pay to his chances. Hopefully he brings his best manners, especially given he has a good trailing draw, so at odds, happy to speck.
