A cracking, soggy Autumn carnival concludes at Randwick on Saturday, we may even advance to a slow surface (remember them?) if the weather gods are on our side.
The All Aged Stakes is the obvious standout on a deep card featuring big fields and the mix of horses looking to finish campaigns with some cash, and horses kicking off likely Brisbane-bound.
My best is (as it has been in both Randwick meetings the past fortnight) in the last, why stop a good thing I guess, hopefully, unlike the Championship weeks, we have some money in the kitty already and it’s not the big sweat it has been.
Best bet: Race 10 – 9 April Rain (3 units @ $6.50)
April Rain rated well on top to finish the day, her second behind Quantico first-up last time out giving him weight is quite simply beating this crew, and her tick over trial was excellent behind winners Heresy (one of ours) and O’President.
She rarely starts at this sort of price and might not again if she gets the cash here.
Best value: Race 8 – 11 Nimalee (1 unit @ $18)
Nimalee proved she can get through this funny Randwick surface with a G1 win against the girls last week, I think she can get to the best part of the track and chase what should be a good tempo.
Forbidden Love might have peaked, Mo’unga is a threat but might need 1600 and In The Congo is short enough.

Good luck one and all, as you can see I’ve gone around a couple of the shorties, while they rate well I don’t see value with a few failures recently after gut busters in the mud earlier in the carnival.
