Two meetings to look at on Wednesday, with Tabcorp Park Melton and Bendigo getting my attention.

Tabcorp Park Melton

Best bet: Race 6, Number 3, Power Up

Good luck beating him if he’s right to go. Australian debut came in September at Terang where he did plenty wrong in a total forgive, with that track being tricky on occasion for trotters. Has been given a good break and I’ve loved the way he has trialled in readiness for his return. if he brings his best, he wins.

Next best: Race 1, Number 3, Eye See Amour

Has placed in six of career outings and is bursting to win one. He gets a golden chance here. Odds on pop when racing over the sprint trip here last time out and battled away pretty well in defeat when a narrow second. I think he’ll find the front here and if he gets total control, he’ll be clearly the one to beat.

Value: Race 7, Number 8, Appearfromnowhere

Talented mare but her manners are horrendous, so I’d have something very small each way at a price because if she does do everything right, she will be a single figure chance. Started $2.30 favourite last time out when racing roughly and breaking. Drawn inside the second row, if she brings her manners, she follows out a fast beginner and could get run of the race.

Bendigo

Best bet: Race 6, Number 7, Meydan

Drawn outside the front row, but he is getting better with racing and I think will establish himself as metro class before too long. With that in mind, he’s the best on the program. Bolted up at this track last start and clocked a fast mile rate in winning. He’s going places and I’m confident he wins again.

Next best: Race 1, Number 3, Lochinvar Xena

Talented filly that I think can get into the winners list. Debuted in a heat of the Gold Tiara when second before going to the Final when clearly outclassed in a total forgive, before doing work at Melton when third. Should find the front comfortably here and prove hard to get past.

Value: Race 7, Number 8, Jawbreaker

He’s a great each-way bet. His recent form is nothing to jump up and down about, but he hasn’t drawn the best during that time and hasn’t really been able to get into the contest. That changes here, drawing the second row and following out a fast beginner, so if he can land leaders back, he’ll take a power of beating.
