Former rugby legend/villain (depending on your perspective) Paul Gallen will step into the ring against boxer Kris Terzievski tonight in Newcastle, as the two top the bill and will battle it out for the Australian and Australasian heavyweight titles. The Roar has all the information you need to watch this event.

With many predicting that this will be the penultimate fight of Gallen’s boxing career, the bout has taken on some extra importance as the former NRL enforcer will want to improve his 12-1-1 record in the sport.

But in the build up to the bout, Gallen seems to have been more focused on the lack of effort from Terzievski on the promotional side of things rather than his abilities in the ring.

In the pre fight press conference and interviews, Gallen has made it clear that his opponent has been a real disappointment when it comes to promoting tonight’s battle.

“He’s let down the sport of boxing, everyone involved in boxing, and the people that give it to me about being involved in boxing. He’s a genuine boxer with plenty of fights and he’s not promoting the sport – it’s crap,” said a frustrated Gallen earlier this week.

Terzievski, whose record is quite similar to his opponent with a 10-1-1 report card, has been very respectful in the face of Gal’s abuse but has reminded fans not to take this as any sort of indication that the south paw is going to go soft on the League legend.

“This is a gentleman’s sport at the end of the day, so I’m trying to be respectful. But make no mistake, don’t take kindness for weakness. This is the hurt business,” shared Terzievski.
