The 2022 A-League men’s grand final is here with Melbourne City taking on Western United to be crowned champions of Australian football. The match starts at 7:45pm AEST on Saturday May 28.

Melbourne City will start favourites in the all-Melbourne grand final.

City are the defending champions but Western United have shown they’re not to be underestimated after some big scalps throughout the year including when it mattered most against Melbourne Victory in the semi-finals.

It would be a massive fairytale for the new club to win the A-League and would be a testament to the work that coach John Aloisi has done to mould the playing group into a consistent force to be reckoned with.

City scored 15 more goals than Western United in the regular season and that’s where they’ll be hoping to assert some dominance. If it remains a stalemate for a long period of time then United will fancy their chances of causing the grand final upset.
