Brisbane centre Brenko Lee is set to miss Saturday’s clash with Newcastle after suffering a leg injury at training.

His likely absence means rookie youngster Deine Mariner is set to get a recall.

Knights prop David Klemmer was due to return from his controversial one-week club-imposed suspension for Saturday’s road clash with Brisbane. However, Klemmer will miss a second straight NRL game after suffering a knee injury during the week.

The former NSW State of Origin player, who was stood down for last week’s win over Wests Tigers for disciplinary reasons, aggravated an old knee injury in training on Wednesday.

Despite an MRI clearing Klemmer of any serious damage, the Knights have ruled the forward out of Saturday’s trip to face Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium.

Sauaso Sue will come into the front-row for Klemmer with the Knights confident the forward will miss just one game with the complaint.

In better news for the visitors, Jacob Saifiti has made the trip to Queensland despite being under an injury cloud all week after suffering a head knock late in last weekend’s victory.

The Knights had already named Adam Clune to replace the injured Jake Clifford (fractured arm) at halfback while Mat Croker is in for Mitch Barnett (thumb) at lock.

Cowboys coach Todd Payten has confirmed prop Jordan McLean will make his return from a hamstring injury when they travel to the SCG to take on the Roosters.

Raiders winger Nick Cotric copped a one-game high tackle ban with the early guilty plea and will miss Sunday’s home game against St George Illawarra.

Dragons veteran Tariq Sims looks to have played his last match with St George Illawarra after accepting a four-match ban for knocking Cronulla’s Connor Tracey out with his shoulder in round 21.

Sharks five-eighth Matt Moylan will not to return from a quad problem which kept him out of the win over the Dragons while Tracey has not passed the concussion protocols after his head knock.

Manly five-eighth Kieran Foran (hamstring) is hopeful of playing this Sunday against his next team, the Titans, on the Gold Coast despite tweaking his hamstring strain in Friday night’s loss to the Eels.

Titans hooker Aaron Booth suffered a serious knee injury in the loss to Melbourne and will be sidelined into next season after needing a full reconstruction.
