Brisbane halfback Adam Reynolds has been cleared for Saturday’s derby against the Gold Coast after his ankle was injured when caught under a tackler in last round’s loss to Canberra.

But the Broncos captain trained on Friday and has been cleared to face the Titans in Robina on Saturday.

“He’s fine, right to go,” Brisbane coach Kevin Walters said of his key man. “Every member of the whole squad is important but he takes a lot of responsibility and been great for us this year.”

Gold Coast five-eighth Toby Sexton is out for up to six weeks after he broke his wrist in the win over the Dragons but played through the pain to score the clinching try.

Manly star Tom Trbojevic will be good to go for Friday’s Brookvale battle with the Storm with coach Anthony Seibold denying his back spasms are related to a flare-up of his ongoing hamstring issues.

Trbojevic battled pain in his lower back in last Saturday night’s loss to Penrith, prompting fears over potential tightness of his problematic hamstrings.

“He’s had a bit of soft tissue injury on his hip. A hip pointer from a bang,” Seibold said. “It stirs up a bit. He had a needle and it stirred up his back a bit.

“It’s not uncommon. Most players get a hip-pointer injury at some stage when they get a bang on it. A needle numbs the pain. He was uncomfortable during the game, but he trained fully on Tuesday. He’s fit to go.”

Manly have ruled Josh Schuster out for a third straight week, with the half now targeting a return from a quad injury in the round-eight match against Wests Tigers on April 23. Cooper Johns has replaced rookie Kaeo Weekes at five-eighth.

Utility forward Karl Lawton (shoulder) and winger Reuben Garrick (concussion) are out with Aaron Woods making his first Manly appearance via the bench and Raymond Tuaimalo Vaega the new flanker.

Melbourne have pulled a selection surprise by switching Cameron Munster to fullback for Friday’s trip north.

Nick Meaney is out due to a concussion so Craig Bellamy has named Munster in the No.1 jersey with impressive rookie Jonah Pezet recalled in the halves.

Canterbury star Viliame Kikau may have played his last game for the season after tearing a pectoral muscle in a training mishap. He has been ruled out for at least three months so he could make a return in the final matches of the regular season.

Kikau, who had been named to return from a two-week concussion layoff in Sunday’s clash with Parramatta, left the training field on Tuesday with the injury and after undergoing scans on Wednesday it was confirmed he had suffered a full rupture that would require surgery.

He will undergo repair surgery on Monday. It’s a massive blow for coach Cameron Ciraldo’s hopes of guiding Canterbury to the finals in his rookie season at the helm.

Kikau, one of the club’s star off-season recruits, was brought in alongside Eels hooker Reed Mahoney and Raiders forward Ryan Sutton to help the Bulldogs challenge for the finals after six straight seasons finishing among the also-rans. Sutton or Corey Waddell is likely to replace Kikau in the starting side on Sunday.

“That’s football, thunderbolts happen,” Canterbury general manager Phil Gould said.

It comes after winger Josh Addo-Carr suffered a syndesmosis injury on Good Friday in the loss to Souths. He underwent surgery and is out for 6-8 weeks. English prop Luke Thompson has yet to play this season due to a foot issue and young front-rower Franklin Pele is out with a broken arm

St George Illawarra’s misfiring season has copped another blow with prop Francis Molo copping a three-match ban after his high shot on Titans counterpart Moeaki Fotuaika.

Molo was slapped with a grade-two careless high tackle and because of his poor record, he could have been handed a fourth match if he challenged the judiciary.

The former Queensland representative was sin-binned for the incident in the narrow defeat which leaves the team with a 2-3 record in 11th place.

Dragons teammate Jaydn Su’A was charged with a dangerous contact offence for a tackle on Titans halfback Tanah Boyd but has escaped with a $1800 fine with an early guilty plea.

The Dragons travel to Canberra this Sunday to face the Raiders – veteran winger Jordan Rapana will miss the match for the home side after a nasty cut in the final minutes of their upset win in Brisbane on Saturday night.

Roosters lock Victor Radley has submitted an early guilty plea for his dangerous contact charge after a late hit on Melbourne star Cameron Munster and will pay a $3000 fine.

Cowboys duo Coen Hess and Peta Hiku, Dolphins opponents Kodi Nikorima and Brenko Lee, and Panthers hooker Mitch Kenny have all copped fines for minor offences.

Newcastle hooker Jayden Brailey is out for the season after scans revealed he suffered an ACL tear during the win over the Warriors on Sunday.

Warriors pivot Te Maire Martin also hobbled off on Sunday at McDonald Jones Stadium. Martin was sent for scans which revealed he had broken his leg in an awkward tackle and will miss at least eight weeks. Dylan Walker replaces him in the halves.

Wests Tigers five-eighth Adam Doueihi looks like he will miss the rest of the season after suffering what is potentially his third ACL tear in the Easter Monday loss to the Eels.

Cowboys forward Griffin Neame has also joined the long-term injured list, out for two months with a throat problem.
