The South Sydney Rabbitohs take on the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles at Central Coast Stadium in Gosford. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7.55pm AEST.

There’s a fair bit riding on this one for these sides, with both carrying high expectations this year. A win and consolidation within the 8 becomes a little closer. A loss could easily see the Rabbitohs, in particular, fall outside the 8 for the first time in many years.

The Wests Tigers have now stung two good teams in a fortnight and the Rabbitohs will be hurting after their one point loss.

They have yet to develop any consistency in their game this year and Lachlan Ilias is still finding his way. With the likes of Cody Walker, Cameron Murray and Damien Cook in the line up, their best is surely not far away.

In team changes, Taane Milne is missing through suspension with Isaiah Tass coming in to play his second NRL game. Siliva Havili replaces the injured Jacob Host on the bench

The Sea Eagles right edge defence was in tatters last Thursday night with Siosifa Talakai giving Morgan Harper nightmares. To their credit, the Sea Eagles fought their way back into the contest but it was a tale of too little, too late.

In team changes, Martin Taupau and Sean Keppie both return to the front row with Toafofoa Sipley heading back to the bench. Haumole Olakau’atu, through suspension, and Taniela Paseka, via injury, are both out. Ben Trbojevic and Kurt de Luis come on to the bench. Morgan Harper has been dropped and he is replaced by Tolutau Koula.

Prediction

Manly have been doing ok in the absence of Tom Trbojevic but they are missing more key players tonight.

The Rabbits will be looking to make amends this round and I expect their key players to deliver.

It will be close but I think South Sydney will win in a tight one.
