We may be some way away from the start of the 2020 AFL season but, with most players already back their respective clubs for preseason training, it’s clearly not too early to start looking ahead.

Every season, a player’s career trajectory is altered. For some, the difference is negligible but, for others, it’s irreversible.

We were joined on the Game of Codes podcast by Roar AFL expert Marnie Cohen to look which players are set to have a breakout year in 2020, as well as which players enter the new season under all sorts of pressure.

Will we see some of this year’s lesser-known trade movers – like Cam Ellis-Yolmen or Dougal Howard – make a name for themselves at their new clubs? Will some of the big movers – or non-movers – buckle under the pressure of expectation?

Which young, up-and-coming players at your club are on the cusp of finally turning that potential into match-winning ability?

Which veterans are at risk of losing their spots in the 22 before they thought they would?

Listen to the discussion in the player above.
