Brisbane are looking to keep pace with Fremantle and Brisbane in the top echelon of the ladder when they travel to face Adelaide on Saturday night. Join The Roar for live scores and rolling coverage from 7:40pm (AEST).

The Lions look once again on track for a major premiership tilt, having barely put a foot wrong all season.

Their only defeat came to Geelong at their GMHBA Stadium fortress, comprehensively beating the struggling West Coast and proving too strong for Sydney on their own turf in the last fortnight.

One concern for Chris Fagan is his dwindling key forward depth, with Joe Daniher (shoulder) and Dan McStay (ankle) both suffering injuries in the last two weeks. Fortunately, Eric Hipwood has returned from a knee injury in the nick of time, and has been brought straight back to AFL level.

After statement wins over Richmond and the Western Bulldogs seemingly had the Crows in the finals mix, the bottom has fallen out with crushing losses to GWS and Carlton since.

The Blues destroyed Adelaide around the ball and in attack last week, with Charlie Curnow capitalising on an outgunned back six to kick six goals.

In response, Matthew Nicks has made a major statement at the selection table, with ruckman Reilly O’Brien dropped in favour of backup Kieran Strachan. It’s one of six changes for the match, with acting captain Brodie Smith, goalsneak Ned McHenry and much-maligned forward Darcy Fogarty among the returnees.
