Adelaide have started the 2019 AFLW season with one win and one loss, but the pleasing aspect is the win came last week against the Carlton Blues at Princes Park.

The 13-point victory the Crows were able to claim over the Blues has given them some momentum going into the clash against the Cats this week.

Anne Hatchard and Erin Phillips were sensational for the Crows against Carlton, both accumulating over 20 disposals each.

Phillips was also able to get forward and kick a handy goal, showing her versatility and importance to the Crows.

Stevie-Lee Thompson was the pick of the forwards, booting four majors to help her team claim the points. Eloise Jones was also very good, finishing the game with two goals from just eight disposals.

As for the Cats, they are coming off a disappointing loss to the Western Bulldogs.

The Dogs claimed an 18-point victory over the Cats, which now sees the Cats stand with one win and one loss after two rounds.

Meghan McDonald was the pick of the Geelong side last week against the Dogs, reeling in 21 disposals.

The most disappointing aspect of the game was the fact the Cats could only find two goals, which came from Phoebe McWilliams and Georgia Clarke as they both scored one each.

We may only be two rounds in, but the new team in the competition in Geelong have already experienced the high and lows of football.

The one-point win over the Collingwood Magpies in round one, to the defeat against the Dogs in round two.

Prediction
It is difficult to look past the Crows. Ultimately, the Cats are still new to the competition and just don’t have the talent or experience to match the seasoned team from Adelaide.

This is a season for Geelong to learn and develop, rather than worrying about the win-loss ratio.

The Crows to prevail by 17 points.
