The Melbourne Demons are looking to extend their remarkable winning streak into double digits when they travel to South Australia take on the Adelaide Crows. Stay up to date with their AFL clash with live scores on The Roar from 4:35pm (AEDT).

Not since 1964 have Demons fans been as up and about as they are right now. After decades in the wilderness, the Melbourne of 2021 appear primed to break the AFL’s longest current premiership drought.

They’re the last unbeaten side in the competition with nine wins from nine starts in 2021 – and what’s more, they’ve hardly even been challenged along the way. So good is their form, that they even have the luxury of omitting boom recruit Ben Brown from their line-up to take on the Crows.

The Crows were far from disgraced in their 30-point loss to West Coast in Perth last weekend; however, having lost five in a row, the gloss of their strong start to the season has well and truly worn off. Sitting fifteenth, it’s looking like a second consecutive long season for Matthew Nicks and his charges.

In-form former skipper Taylor Walker returns, having been rested last week, with his duel with former Crow Jake Lever in the forward line adding some spice to this encounter. Walker was famously less than impressed with Lever choosing to head to the Demons at the end of 2017: expect Tex, and the Crows fans in the stands, to at least acknowledge his presence.
