Adelaide will be hoping for a repeat of last year’s miraculous victory over Melbourne as the two sides lock horns again in the city of churches. Join The Roar for live scores and rolling coverage from 4:35pm (AEST).

The Crows famously ended Melbourne’s nine-game winning streak to start 2021, with a late Taylor Walker goal enough to secure an epic one-point win.

Thirteen months on, and the Dees have a premiership under their belt and are fast trending towards another, while the Crows have made some steps forward, but not nearly enough to satisfy their fans.

Last week’s win over North Melbourne was as comprehensive as you’d expect victory over the AFL’s worst side to be, with Taylor Walker and Darcy Fogarty combining for ten goals between them. Do that again on the fearsome Dees’ defence led by Steven May and Jake Lever, and the Crows will have a chance.

After three straight losses raised doubts, the Demons emphatically silenced them with a brutal victory over another major contender in Brisbane.

Yet again looking at their exquisite best, with Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca dominant in midfield and Lever unmovable behind the ball, the Dees proved their best is still THE best.

However, they will be without captain Max Gawn again for this clash, while young gun ruckman Luke Jackson has succumbed to knee soreness and will also be on the sidelines. Without them both, could Crows big man Reilly O’Brien use his supremacy in the air to give the underdogs a chance?
