Show Preview

Taylor Walker is back as the Adelaide Crows look to do further damage to the West Coast Eagles’ finals hopes on Sunday afternoon. Follow the action from the Adelaide Oval with live scores on The Roar from 4:40pm (AEST).

If the Eagles weren’t officially panicking this time last week, then their shock loss to the last-placed North Melbourne at home would have every bell in the joint a-ringing. Touted pre-season as one of the flag favourites, the Eagles have fallen well off the boil, and it’s likely anything short of a win will see them finish the round outside the eight.

In a further blow, gun defender Tom Barrass has been ruled out with a torn hamstring. The Eagles have opted for youth to step in, with youngsters Harry Edwards, Luke Edwards and debutant Connor West named in the team.

The Crows, too, have rung the changes following last week’s humiliating loss to Essendon, in which they scored a club-record low 21 points. Out go Lachlan Sholl, number two draft pick Riley Thilthorpe, defender Tom Doedee through concussion and a series of others, while the likes of veterans Taylor Walker and Tom Lynch return to the 22.

The Crows have been dangerous at home this season – they’ve beaten no less than Geelong and Melbourne at the Adelaide Oval – and with the Eagles badly floundering at the moment, they will surely sense a kill here.
